5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
In Grace Livingston Hill's novel Miranda, you finally read Miranda's story. Miranda is a secondary character in the novels Marcia Schuyler and Phoebe Deane and her novel is the last in the trilogy.
While working hard to bring happiness to others, Miranda carries a heart full of love for her childhood idol. Most people thought Allan Whitney a bad boy, but not Miranda. She saw the real Allan and helped him out of a few scrapes. In return Allan would smile or wink, sending a thrill to Miranda's heart. When Allan was locked up in her grandfather's old smoke house, to be hung the next morning for a murder he did not commit, she releases him vowing to bring justice to the real murderer. She bides her time for many years waiting for a chance and hearing nothing from Allan the whole time. She puts up with people's gossiping tongues about her being an old maid because of her red hair and fiery temper, and she tolerates the attentions of Allan's own father who wants to marry her so she can care for his younger children. But finally she has her chance and takes it. People now know it was not Allan who was the killer so many years ago, now all she has to do is let Allan know. But how can she reach him? Will he ever be given the letter she sends? Miranda is great, her ready wit and funny pranks keep one laughing. I read this book before I read Marcia Schuyler and Phoebe Deane and didn't like it. But after reading them all in order I loved it. This period in history is one of my favorites, so it was fun reading it from Grace Livingston Hill's perspective. Reading Miranda having her chance and romance was precious. This book can be found on Amazon or eBay. 5: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. This is an amazing song. Emmet does a great job putting the message into the words. Great reminder that God is ALWAYS THERE! 11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I
shall not be moved. I was listing to this song early this week and the opening lines to the song hit me like never before. I have listened to this song many times and it is one of my favorites but for the first time I think I really understood the message behind the song. I thought I would share it. |
About Me
Welcome to A Basket Of Pansies. I am Sarah or sometimes known as Billie Jo, a Christian girl in her early 20s and lover of dogs. I enjoy reading, writing, sewing, drawing, crocheting, horseback riding as well as riding motorcycles, taking walks, designing clothes, hairdressing, and lately planning weddings though for now it has just been for my stories but someday maybe I will plan a real one for someone. Here I like to share my thoughts and whatnot with you all. I hope you enjoy reading this and will pay another visit here someday. God Bless. Archives
