This week has been full of cleaning and packing stuff away so that painting can be done in the basement.  My job has been to watch the younger children.  Not always a fun job for me but I would rather do it then clean.

Last week I worked on a scarf and mitts.  The mitts were for a swap I was doing on Ravelry.  And the scarf was for a KAL (Knit Along) I was in also on Ravelry.  For those that don't know what a knit along is, it is where a bunch of people say they are in and they all knit the same thing at the same time and sometimes there a prizes for who gets done first there were no prizes for this one.  This scarf was a challenge for me as I knit it left handed.  I was taught to knit right handed but since I am left handed I wanted to try knitting left handed.  It went slow at first but it was fun.  I sent both the scarf and mitts to my friend that I was matched with for the swap.  She says she has been wearing the mitts.  So glad you could put them right to use Miranda!!!

This is the scarf.  the yarn I used was a 80% Acrylic 20% Nylon.  It is a very old yarn from like the 1970s probably.

And these are the mitts.  Made from a yarn I spun myself from alpaca.    I had so much fun making them both.  I love making things and giving them to people!

Till next week!  I hope to post again next week.

    About Me

Welcome to A Basket Of Pansies.  I am Sarah or sometimes known as Billie Jo, a Christian girl in her early 20s and lover of dogs.  I enjoy reading, writing, sewing, drawing, crocheting, horseback riding as well as riding motorcycles, taking walks, designing clothes, hairdressing, and lately planning weddings though for now it has just been for my stories but someday maybe I will plan a real one for someone.  Here I like to share my thoughts and whatnot with you all.  I hope you enjoy reading this and will pay another visit here someday.  God Bless.
