November Story Ivy

For this month's story scene I am doing something a little different.  Instead of doing one scene, I am going to do a bunch of little snippets.  When I am walking around the house doing chores or watching kids or something an idea will come to me so I scribble it down so I won't forget it.  Then I work the idea into the story later when I come to that part of the writing.  I start out with one paper and sometimes end up with three or more, some of the papers are kind of small.  So what I am going to do here is share some of those scribbles from one of those papers for the story I am working on this month, Ivy.  It is the third book in the Dakota Donald's series.  Fritz is #1 in the series and Leanna is #2.

"Keith what did you do?" Ivy asked as she rounded the corner and saw Keith almost drop the saddle as he was tried to put on Montana Horse.
    "It's nothing," he replied.
"Don't try lying to me, you know it doesn't work,"  Ivy stood between him and his horse.
"Fine!  I pulled a muscle in my back while we were moving wood yesterday," he sighed.  Ivy nodded her head in satisfaction.
"I'll give you a massage when we are done feeding," Ivy took the saddle and threw it over the horse.
"Not happening," Keith tried to edge Ivy out of the way.
"Not a good thing to say to Ivy," Rachel appeared around the corner.
"There is no was around you two is there?  I guess I will have to give in," Keith leaned against the wall.  He was in too much pain to try fighting with these two girls right now.
"That's right mate," she patted his arm as she moved past him.

"We can make it back before them," Keith said.
    "How?" asked Ivy.
"Follow me.  We can cut across lot," he took her arm and they started off at a fast pace.  When they came to the old dry creek bed, Keith jumped down into it and held his hands up to swing Ivy down.  Instead of letting go of her right away when she was safely on the ground and hurrying on like he normally did, he bent his head and pressed his lips to hers.
When the kiss ended Ivy looked up and said, "That was an adventure!"  It had caught her by surprise.

"So Sue and the boss?" Ivy asked on the way back to the bunk house with Rachel.
"Oh yeah, that's the real reason we came down here.  You know CountryManOK from the country hangout?"  At Ivy's nod Rachel continued, "Well he's the boss."
    "No way!" Ivy was surprised.
    "Yeah, that's right,"
"Why didn't you tell me when you were at our place last year?"  Ivy asked.
"No one was supposed to know.  I told our uncle and failed my history test because Sue hid the book to pay me back.  Uncle put up such a fuss, after all she met him online you know.  What he did not know was that she had already been down to meet him with a very good friend," Rachel said.
    "Wow!  So......."
"Oh yeah, we are just waiting for the word."
    "Really! it's that close?"
    "Yeah," Rachel nodded.

Ivy looked at Luke.  "You have to up your game if you are serious about Rachel.  She is thinking about dumping you."

That is all for this time.  I am doing this book for NaNo.  I wanted to finish the whole book this month (an average of 80,000 words) but I have had too many other things to do and not much time to write.  I currently have 43,816 words.  I will make the  50,000 goal I set but I won't finish the book.

We are finally done with canning!!!!  WE thought we were done a few weeks ago but then just last week we were able to pick a bunch of frozen apples.  This last week we spent making them into sauce and jelly.
I totaled up the numbers and we canned a total of 684 jars of stuff this year!  Putting it into numbers like that makes my back ache remembering all that work.=)  On the other hand it is very nice to know all the stuff is on the shelves and will feed us through the year.

    About Me

Welcome to A Basket Of Pansies.  I am Sarah or sometimes known as Billie Jo, a Christian girl in her early 20s and lover of dogs.  I enjoy reading, writing, sewing, drawing, crocheting, horseback riding as well as riding motorcycles, taking walks, designing clothes, hairdressing, and lately planning weddings though for now it has just been for my stories but someday maybe I will plan a real one for someone.  Here I like to share my thoughts and whatnot with you all.  I hope you enjoy reading this and will pay another visit here someday.  God Bless.
