Four days before May 3th (the day of the Kentucky Derby) I was on Pintesest and saw an amazing hat. I was looking and looking at it then said (yes out loud) to my self, I am going to make a Derby hat for Saturday! It was a possibility I might have to go to a craft fair to help my mom, so I would be able to dress up for another reason than just dressing up. Yes I was WAY over dressed compared to everyone else. But it was DERBY DAY!
I did get to go to the craft fair and loved walking around in my high heels and hat. While over there I found out that almost NO ONE knew what the Kentucky Derby was!!!! I have known what it was since I can remember. But then to I had a horse crazy older sister, who was also big into reading and researching.
So, for all reading this who don't know what the Kentucky Derby is.....it is a horse race held at Church Hill Downs in Kentucky. If you do a goggle or Pinterest search on Kentucky Derby hats you will find some really cool looking hats and some really interesting looking hats.
I love wearing hats I think it's one of those things of the past we should bring back into today's fashion.
